ESN goes Hiking

Hello guys (and hopefully hiking lovers)!

Would you like to see some of Austria’s beautiful nature and its famous alps? Do you love hiking and fresh mountain air? Then come with us on our daytrip to SCHNEEBERG! It is the easternmost mountain of the Alps that exceeds 2000m and the highest of Lower Austria.

WHEN? Wednesday, 21st September, 9.30 a.m. till 7.00-8.00 p.m.
MEETING POINT? Hauptbahnhof main entrance at 9.30 a.m.
PRICE: 23€ per person (includes train from Vienna to Puchberg am Schneeberg, cable railway from the mountain top back to Puchberg and train back to Vienna)

We will arrive in Puchberg am Schneeberg around 11.30 a.m., which lies at the bottom of the mountain. From there we will start our hiking tour to the top which will take us about 3 hours, depending on how fast we are.
There are several opportunities to get food (inns in the village, on the way up and on the top with delicious Austrian food). However, we will discuss it in the train if and when we’re going to sit down to grab some food so that we won't have to stop at every single inn we will cross. Even though the way up shouldn't be too exhausting for us (it is also suitable for kids), of course we will have some breaks now and then to rest a bit and enjoy the view :)

Still, I suggest you choose your clothing wisely so you won't get sore feet or freeze at the top of the mountain. To get down again we will hop on the cable railway back to Puchberg. From there a train leaves every hour, back to Vienna. Depending on how long our trip takes, we will be back at Hauptbahnhof between 7 and 8 p.m.

Please pay in advance in the office in order to have tickets prepared for the trip on time.
The office is opened on Tuesday 13.9. 2:30-4:00 p.m. and on Monday 19.9. 10:00-11:30 a.m.
