On Dracula's Tracks in Transylvania - SOLD OUT!!!!!!

Dear ESN students,

You’re not scared of vampires? Then join our adventure to discover the tracks of the mysterious and famous vampire Dracula and his castle Bran in Romania. The bloody history of Dracula started in the 15th century in the foggy countryside of Transylvania and his vampire stories haunt us until today.

The ESN trip will begin on a dark Thursday evening, on April 16, 2015, just the right time for our vampire experience. Our first stop will be Friday morning in Sibiu, a medieval city which once belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire under the name of Hermannstadt. In Sibiu, we will have a guided tour through the city center and in the evening, after a typical Romanian meal, we will pre-party at our hostel and taste a special Romanian spirit called Tuica.

On Saturday, we will visit Count Dracula's castle, the trip's highlight. There we will explore Dracula’s scary myth and history. Afterwards, the nearby picturesque city Brasov awaits, followed by dinner and an amazing party with our fellow students from ESN Sibiu.

On Sunday, April 19th, we're going to visit Corvin Castle and after lunch, we'll start our trip back to Vienna – hopefully without a vampire bite.

What’s included (preliminary programme)

* bus trip to Romania and back

* PASSPORT (also check if your visa allows you to leave Schengen area)

ATTENTION: Please understand that an online-registration does not yet ensure your spot. In order to have a confirmed spot you have to come to our office and pay in cash. Also, please note that the Uni Wien Easter break starts on March 27th, so if you're not here during the break, come to the office and pay for your spot BY MARCH 26TH.

Liebe internationalen Studierenden!

Ihr habt keine Angst vor Vampiren? Dann begleitet uns doch nach Rumänien, wo wir den Spuren des mysteriösen und berühmten Vampir Dracula und seiner Burg Bran folgen werden. Die blutige Geschichte Draculas begann im 15. Jahrhundert im nebeligen Transsilvanien und sein Mythos verfolgt uns bis heute.

Wir beginnen unsere Reise an einem dunklen Donnerstag – genau um die richtige Zeit um unser Vampirabenteuer zu beginnen. Als erstes werden wir über Nacht nach Sibiu fahren. Diese mittelalterliche Stadt gehörte einst zu Österreich-Ungarn und wurde Hermannstadt genannt. Dort werden wir eine Stadttour unternehmen und abends, nach einem typischen rumänischen Abendessen, werden wir gemeinsam vorglühen und dabei einen besonderen rumänischen Schnaps, Tuica genannt, verkosten.

Am Samstag werden wir Graf Draculas Burg besichtigen, was das Highlight unseres Trips darstellt. Dort werden wir Draculas Mythos und Geschichte erkunden. Danach besuchen wir die nahegelegene, malerische Stadt Brasov. Abends werden wir gemeinsam mit unseren Erasmusfreunden aus Sibiu ordentlich Party machen.

Am Sonntag erkunden wir dann die Burg Corvin, wo wir auch gemeinsam Mittagessen werden. Danach verlassen wir Transsilvanien und kehren hoffentlich ohne Vampirbiss zurück nach Wien.

ACHTUNG: Bitte habt Verständnis, dass eine Online-Registrierung keinen Fixplatz bedeutet. Damit ihr fix einen Platz habt, müsst ihr ins Büro kommen und in bar zahlen. Seid euch bewusst, dass die Osterferien an der Uni Wien am 27. März beginnen. Wenn ihr in den Osterferien also nicht da seid, kommt bitte BIS 26. MÄRZ ins Büro und bezahlt für den Trip, wenn ihr einen Platz haben möchtet.
