Do you want to go outside Vienna for a change and see something of the rest of Austria?
Great! Then join us on our Daytrip to Hinterbrühl in Lower Austria, just south of Vienna.
We will meet at Meidling Bahnhof in the morning and go together to Hinterbrühl. There we will visit the “Seegrotte”, an underground cave system with a large grotto located under a former gypsum mine. Today it is a tourist mine with mystic drifts, a mining-museum and the largest underground lake in Europe. We will take a tour through the old mines and take a boat ride on one of the stunning underground lakes.
Afterwards we will have a break for lunch in a nearby restaurant.
Then we will go on to Liechtenstein castle in Maria Enzersdorf, which we will reach by foot. Here we will also have a tour where we will discover the 900 year long history of the castle, which is one of few preserved Romanesque civil architecture in Europe. One of the highlights is definitely the amazing view from the castle over the Vienna Woods, and on a clear day you can even see as far as Bratislava!
After the tour we will take a bus back to Vienna, where we will arrive around 16:00.
