Approaching from Ringstraße, the facade with open arcades above the entrance stands out. The gable depicts ""the birth of Minerva"" and lists University of Vienna rectors. Adjacent is the Arcade Court, honoring scholars and offering student space, with the Kastalia fountain at its center.
 
A staircase to the right leads to ceremonial halls and the University Library's reading room. The Main Ceremonial Hall hosts events, adorned with statues of Rudolph IV and Maria Theresia. Ceiling paintings by Franz Matsch based on Gustav Klimt's designs complete the decor.
 
Guided tours of the Main Building showcase its history. Covering the Aula, Arcade Court, Library reading room, and Main Ceremonial Hall (if available), they feature copies of Klimt's original ceiling art.
