Want to discover one of the most scenic forest hiking routes in Vienna while meeting other exchange students?
 
Join us for the famous Stadtwanderweg 2 - Hermannskogel!
This trail takes us through peaceful forest paths, hidden clearings, and some of the highest viewpoints in Vienna. It’s a perfect mix of nature, fresh air, and classic Viennese hiking culture.
 
🥾 Route: Stadtwanderweg 2 - Hermannskogel
📍 Start & finish: Bus 39A, final stop “Sievering”
📏 Distance: around 10 km
⏰ Hiking time: around ~3–4 hours
 
Along the way we’ll pass:
• beautiful forest trails and quiet nature spots!
• Hermannskogel the HIGHEST point in Vienna
• the historic Habsburgwarte observation tower with panoramic views
• the famous “Am Himmel” area and the Lebensbaumkreis
• traditional Viennese Heurige and cozy mountain cafés
 
✨ Bonus tip:
Vienna has a special “Wanderpass” system for the city hiking trails. If you print your Wanderpass in advance, you can collect stamps during the hike and later receive hiking badges at the Rathaus! This hike is also one of the 12 official Vienna city hikes, so after this event you can continue exploring the others too.

Please make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring enough water for the hike. We also recommend bringing some snacks or food for a small break along the way. Depending on the weather, you should bring: sunscreen and a cap
