Whether after an accident, childbirth or for patients with a serious illness - in Austria a blood unit is needed every 90 seconds. That's almost 1,000 blood units a day.  Blood is an important emergency medicine and cannot be produced artificially.  By donating blood you save lives.
When donating blood, approximately 465 ml of blood is taken from a vein in your arm. The collected whole blood is immediately subjected to safety tests, separated into different components and processed into different blood products.  It is then delivered to Austria's hospitals for the care of patients - where it saves lives.
 
Join us in our blood donation event this Wednesday. The Red Cross has requirements for blood donors, some of them are written in this post below. Please make sure you have read and fulfill these requirements, because otherwise you might be not allowed to donate your blood.

* On Wednesday, the 10th of May, from 1 to 2 pm (please be on time😁)
 
► HOW MUCH?
*   It's for free.
 
► WHAT TO BRING?
*  An official ID with photo (e.g. driver's license, passport, identity card) 
 
◆ WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
* Please make sure you drink and eat enough before and after the donation!!!
* Also please make sure you don't drink alcohol 3 days before the day of donation
* One of the rules for blood donation in the Red Cross is to speak and understand German, if you don't speak it well, sadly you won't be allowed to make a donation
